Air Force Airman Sean P. Brandner has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
Brandner is the son of Sarah Brandner of Cavalier Woods Lane, Clifton. The airman is a 2004 graduate of Centreville High School, Clifton.

Army National Guard Pvt. Hoon-Jae Lee has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
He is the son of Steven H. and Jane M. Lee of Willow Crescent Drive, Fairfax. Lee is a 2007 graduate of Fairfax High School.
Air Force Airman Saranam L. Dorman has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Dorman is the daughter of Richard and Carol Dorman of Eddy Court, Centreville. In 2006, the airman graduated from Westfield High School, Chantilly.
Marine Corps Pfc. Willy A. Maldonado, son of Zoila F. De La Rivera of Centreville, recently completed the Administrative Clerk Course at Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Lejeune, NC. During the eight-week course, Maldonado learned basic skills and knowledge in personnel management and administration procedures. Maldonado is a 2007 graduate of Frederick Douglass High School of Upper Marlboro, Md., and joined the Marine Corps in January 2008.
Christopher X. Treyz has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. The cadet is a student at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. He is the son of Fred A. and Mary Treyz of Chancery Park Drive, Fairfax. Treyz graduated in 2006 from Fairfax High School.
