The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area approved the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation to participate in the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign. The CFCNCA assigned designation number 27090 to the NWFCU Foundation.

Corporate America Family Credit Union, located at 13075 Worldgate Drive in Herndon, recently held its third annual school supply drive, "Project Backpack," to benefit local students in need.

Atlantic ComReal Companies, Inc. of Vienna has selected Trinity Group Construction, Inc. of Herndon to construct its newest office condominium building, 3801 University Drive, in the City of Fairfax.

The Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation (NWFCU) donated $5,000 to Homes for our Troops, a non-profit group committed to assisting Servicemen and Women who have returned home with disabilities and injuries. Homes for our Troops collects donations of money, building materials and professional labor and coordinates the process of building new homes or adapting existing homes for handicapped accessibility. The NWFCU donated $2,500 each for projects in Denver, Colorado and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, site for the Democratic and Republican conventions respectively. Guident Technologies of Herndon, a leading integrator of business intelligence, management consulting, and systems engineering services to the government and commercial marketplaces, announced that it was awarded a contract by the Department of Homeland Security to establish a department-wide decision support system. The new system will enable improved visibility into project level issues, better reporting capabilities, and enhanced oversight/control over major investments across DHS. The contract is for one base year with one option year, and has a potential value of $2.5 million.
