Solace for the victims of abuse, as well as for those left behind after domestic homicide, plus an offering of options to prevent additional tragedies, will be offered Tuesday Oct. 28, at the "Prayer and Awareness Day" community-wide event coordinated by three key local nonprofits. Freddy Caicedo, human rights worker in Colombia, will speak at GMU (Fairfax Campus, Student Union II, room 5 at 7 p.m.), about human rights and the proposed Colombia Free Trade Agreement. Having worked at great personal risk to boost awareness of the trade agreement in Colombia’s war zones, Caicedo will bring a rare insider’s perspective on the controversial agreement. Wellspring offers the presentation as part of support for Wellspring’s sister church in Zambrano, Colombia.
