The Reston Community Center is looking for artists to be a part of the September Multicultural Art Exhibit in the RCC Lake Anne Jo Ann Rose Gallery. Sunset Hills Montessori School’s PTA is seeking artisans and crafters for their 2nd Annual Fine Arts and Crafts Show that will be held Saturday, Sept. 20. In addition to gaining exposure and making some money, artists can feel good in knowing that they will also be contributing to a good cause as all registration fees will be used to construct a new library for the students of Sunset Hills Montessori School. The Greater Reston Arts Center’s annual C-Note Sale is Sunday, Sept. 28, open for art preview at 11 a.m. with light brunch provided, and sale starting at 1 p.m. GRACE will display the available works of art beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2 during gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

GRACE celebrates the C-Note exhibition with a public reception and Silent Auction on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Greater Reston Arts Center, 12001 Market Street, Reston.

Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C., in association with Galerie Brigitte of Reston, presents an exclusive exhibit of modern lacquer, Vietnamese paintings, "Blending Traditions: Contemporary Lacquer by Duong Sen," featuring

Sen's fascination with traditional Asian subjects. The Gallery,

Artist Shinji Turner-Yamamoto is installing a large dead dogwood tree inside the Greater Reston Arts Center Gallery, 12001 Market St., Suite 103, where it will stretch across the room as if asleep. Along the trunk and branches, he will plant tiny fern seedlings which will grow and carpet the tree with lush, new growth. In an adjacent space he will exhibit related works on paper. Oak Hill artist Jill Poyerd, will be exhibiting her painting entitled "Wishing for Spring" in the Virginia Watercolor Society's 29th Annual Juried Exhibition being held Sept. 22- Nov. 1 in Roanoke. Poyerd is one of 80 artists featured in this year's show as selected by juror, Donna Watson, a nationally recognized, award-winning artist.
