Students at Hunters Woods Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences will use colorful chalk to create drawings depicting their visions of peace during the upcoming Chalk4Peace global art project this week, Sept.15-19. All of the Hunters Woods students will participate — by grade level, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at approximately 3 p.m. Their artwork will fill the sidewalks around the school, weather permitting. FCPS Art teachers Wendy Pierce, Norma Morris and Mary D’Amico are spearheading the event.
The school’s PTA is sponsoring a Chalk for Peace Social for Hunters Woods families and the community on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m.- noon.
The 1st Annual Seahawk Community Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. To rent a table or booth, visit www.seahawkboosters.com. Space rental is $20 per space (two parking space widths); table rental is $10 per 6-foot table. Location is South Lakes High School, Faculty/Main parking lot (Flagpole side).
