Virginia Corey Edgell of Alexandria, died on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Capital Hospice, Arlington, Va. She was born on June 8, 1930 and is survived by a daughter, Margaret Edgell Core; a son, John Edgell; a son-in-law, Lyndell Core; a daughter-in-law, Bradley Edgell; a granddaughter Eleonore Edgell, and grandsons Michael Edgell, James Core, and Joseph Core.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m, Friday, April 3, 2009, at Christ Church, 118 N. Washington Street, Alexandria, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Virginia’s name to the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Attn: Office of Development, Harris Building, Suite 4000
