James Sherwood Parrish, 87, of Stafford County, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Marian Manor in Stafford.
Mr. Parrish had retired from the Department of the Navy and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria. He was also a member of the Mount Vernon County Club where he was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his son, Phillip S. Parrish; his daughter, Susan Cyrus his brother, Matthew Denwood Parrish; his sisters, Marian Sidel and Nancy Posey; and his grandchildren, Annalise Fortin, James Phillip Parrish, Erin Schwartzman, Katy Parrish and Jamie Cyrus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Prather Parrish, and his son, James Winston Parrish.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday, April 24 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
A graveside service will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, April 25 at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
