Marking the organization’s 40th anniversary, UCM Friends gather for a group photograph.

Two hundred guests gathered at Mount Vernon Country Club last weekend to celebrate United Community Ministries’ 40th anniversary. Joining the celebration was Sharon Kelso, former executive director; Warren Cikins, former Mount Vernon District supervisor; Gerry Hyland, Mount Vernon District supervisor; state Sen. Toddy Puller; and Del. Kristen J. Amundson.

Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay led the live auction, which had some brisk bidding and added to the grand total from guests, sponsors, silent auction and donations — bringing in much-needed funds for UCM’s programs. Black Moon Tonic provided the music for some lively dancing,
