Hank Kuhlmann presents a mixed media exhibit including artwork from his "Tiffany-Style" stained glass panels, fused stained glass designs, collages, realistic and abstract acrylic paintings and crayon batiks. The exhibit is on display at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston, until Feb. 15.

Come in and watch the collaborative progress of 12 artists making a huge work of Lake Anne-themed art to fill the Reston Art Gallery’s back wall through Feb. 5. The Gallery is located at 11400 Washington Plaza, Reston and is open weekends 12-5 p.m. or by appointment. Call 703-481-8156.

An exhibition of contemporary landscape paintings and sculpture will be on display at ArtSpace Herndon, 750 Center St., Herndon, Feb. 10-March 9. The reception will be held Feb. 21, 5-7 p.m. Large paintings by Jo Fleming of Great Falls and bronze sculptures by Bill Moore of Silver Spring, MD will be shown.

The Elden Street Players received 13 nominations for outstanding performance in three productions during calendar year 2008. The Washington Area Community Theatre Honors program announced the nominations at The Birchmere in Alexandria. WATCH is an organization of thirty area community theater companies founded for the adjudication and presentation of annual awards recognizing artistic and technical excellence in community theatre throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. The awards ceremony will be held March 1, 7 p.m., at the Birchmere, 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria.

Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C., in association with Galerie Brigitte of Reston, presents an exhibit of modern lacquer, Vietnamese paintings, "Blending Traditions: Contemporary Lacquer" by Duong Sen. The gallery,

located on the ballroom mezzanine level of Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C., will run the exhibit now through

Works by Matthew Best will be on display through April 6 at the Greater Reston Arts Center, 12001 Market St., Suite 103, Reston.

The Reston Museum will be closed for renovations through April 17. A new interior and new exhibits are in the works. Children’s Art Workshops will be on hiatus during the renovations, but Pat Mcintyre’s Art Workshop will continue Saturdays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Art in Hand, a program designed by a local art therapist for toddlers and preschoolers will be expanding to the new ArtSpace Herndon Center, 750 Center St., Herndon. All art activities are designed to stimulate the senses, spark
