Samuel Tucker Elementary School in Cameron Station was alive with activity on Saturday, Feb. 7. There was tumbling in the kindergarten pod, an obstacle course in the gym, and the cafeteria hosted trampolines and interactive games. Outside, members of the Police Department conducted a bike safety program and the Alexandria Fire Department brought over a truck from Station 8. The Alexandria YMCA on Monroe Avenue brought in training equipment and staff to work with the students in different activities throughout the afternoon. The program was made possible through a grant that the school received from a proposal submitted jointly by the Tucker PTA and school PE instructor Martha Grutza.
