T.C. Williams High School English teacher Alexander Duncan III wrote “Bridging the Gap: The Journey Towards Self-Restoration and Inward Repair.” It is currently for sale. 703-824-6800.

The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership has a new Board of Directors and the election of new leadership. Allison Cryor DiNardo, president of Carroll Wireless, was elected chair. Lauren Garcia, co-founder of the Potomac Management Group, Inc. (PMG), an Alexandria Homeland Security government contractor, will serve as vice chair of the AEDP Board of Directors. Charles Collins, co-founder of BriarTek, Inc., an Alexandria technology company that researches, designs and manufactures specialty electronics, will serve as treasurer. All three members of the executive committee are residents of the City of Alexandria.

In addition to DiNardo, Garcia and Collins, the 2008-2009 AEDP Board of Directors include: Jim Devlin, RJ Investments, LLC; Jeffrey Finkle, International Economic Development Council; Duane Gautier, ARCH Corporations (citizen Director); Nick Gregory, Kimpton Hotels; Jonathan Gueverra, Northern Virginia Community College; Mark Jinks, City of Alexandria; Horace Jones, Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc.; Gregory Leisch, Delta Associates; Elizabeth Moon, Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; Scott Price, Virginia High-Tech Partnership; and David Speck, Wachovia Securities.
