T.C. Williams boys’ basketball coach Julian King (right) and Oakton girls’ basketball coach Fred Priester were tabbed as the All-Connection Coaches of the Year after leading their teams to Northern Region Titles this season.
In his first season as head coach after taking over for the departed Ivan Thomas, King was able to keep the Titans’ Patriot District winning streak alive while maintaining the program’s recent dominance over the rest of the region. It’s an even more impressive accomplishment given the fact that T.C. Williams lost nine players from last year’s state championship team.
