Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wendel of Mount Vernon announce the engagement of their son, Matthew Wendel, to Amanda Sowell of Columbia, S.C. Matthew is a 2003 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Amanda is a student in the Medical College of South Carolina's School of Pharmacy. A wedding is planned for April 2010 in Columbia, S.C.
