<b>Chantilly Lace Places Second</b>

The Chantilly Lace U10 travel softball team earned a second place finished in the rain-shortened Potomac River Clash softball tournament.

The tournament was held at Claude Moore Fields in Sterling from Sept. 26 to 27.

<b>Youth Basketball Tournament Registration</b>

<bt>The 16th Annual Mason Dixon Holiday Tip-Off Basketball Tournament for boys and girls in the eight, 10, 12 and 14 and under age groups is currently accepting registration.

The event is held on Dec. 28, 29 and 30 in York County, Pa.

The tournament features round-robin competition and all teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games.

<b>Goblin Gallop Fun Run Registration</b>

The 16th annual Valvoline Instant Oil Change Goblin Gallop 5K Race and 1K Fun Run will be Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Fairfax Corner Shopping Center. The fun run starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K, at 9 a.m. Register at www.Active.com.

Many participants wear Halloween costumes, more than $3,500 in prizes are given away, and race proceeds benefit children with cancer.

The Goblin Gallop starts and ends in front of Coastal Flats restaurant. Entry fees are $20 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K. After Oct. 19 and on race-day, registration is $25 and $20, respectively. For more information, see www.goblingallop.org. The course is USATF-certified, and prizes valued at $150, $100 and $50 are awarded to the top three, overall, male and female finishers. Prizes are also given to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories.

<b>Boys Basketball Skills Clinics</b>

The Chantilly High School boys basketball program will be hosting a fall skills clinic at Chantilly High School for athletes from seventh to 12th grade.

Seventh and eighth grade boys will have sessions from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 and Oct. 25.

Ninth grade sessions will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25.

Sessions for 10th through 12th grade players will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.

<b>Girls Basketball Skills Sessions

<bt>The Chantilly High School girls basketball program will be holding a fall skills clinic at Chantilly High school on Oct. 17, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for players ages 12-18.

The cost for each session is $20.

The sessions will focus on teaching basketball skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing and other skills. All teaching will be conducted by the Chantilly High School girls basketball staff.
