Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Herndon will present a forum titled, “Haiti: Let’s Not Forget.” The forum will be held on Wednesday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. to provide an update on Haiti and the continued need to help the country rebuild. Panelists will include Haiti Ambassador His Excellency Raymond Joseph, Community Coalition for Haiti of McLean; Dr. Michael Coppedge of North Star Church Network; and Dr. Jacqueline Joseph of Bethesda Ministries, Nyack , N.Y., an outreach ministry devoted to helping Haiti. It will also include clergy members along with others who have recently visited the devastated region. Moderated by Emmy-award winning investigative journalist Del Walters of WTOP Radio Station of Washington D.C., panelists will provide information on Haiti’s current conditions, while grappling with the question, “Where do we go from here?”

Knitters needed the first and third Wednesdays of the month, at 7 p.m., at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 432 Van Buren St., Herndon. The church's Shawl Ministry is offering free knitting instruction while providing shawls, blankets and other knitted items for people in need. No cost and yarn can be provided.
