Inocencio Headlines NYC Improv Show

Iliana Inocencio, a native of Mount Vernon, opened her own comedic improv headliner show, Day Camp Kids Present Tug of War, at the People’s Improv Theater (The PIT) in New York City last Saturday. The PIT boasts such performing luminaries as Ellie Kemper ("The Office"), Kristen Schaal ("Flight of the Conchords"), and Ali Farahnakian ("Saturday Night Live").

Ms. Inocencio studied improv at The Second City: Chicago in its Summer Intensive Program on scholarship. She is finishing up her improv studies at The People’s Improv Theater. While living in Virginia, she did a variety of productions spanning from Reston to Fredericksburg to Baltimore, including Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast" as Belle, "The King and I" as Tuptim, "West Side Story" as Maria, and "A Christmas Carol" as Fred’s Sister at The Ford’s Theatre. She attended Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, and moved to New York City to complete her collegiate studies in Theater.
