Jazzercise Instructor Celebrates 25 Years of Fitness

— On March 3, Jazzercise instructor Mindy LaBruno will celebrate her 25th anniversary of teaching Jazzercise.

She started her Jazzercise career at Mount Vernon Square Apartments. She met her husband Roger during a class at Mount Vernon Square. After 7 years she moved locations to Hollin Hall Senior Center where she is presently offering 13 classes each week with a teaching staff of six instructors. Three of her associate instructors live in the Waynewood area: Jennifer Farrar, Anne Nuttall and Peggy Frydenlund. Other instructors are Harmony Allen, Kim La Forest and Dawn Patillo.

LaBruno is well known for her personal training sessions, which is a Jazzercise alternative format. She also oversees Jazzercise Lite classes offered to the senior population throughout Fairfax County in various county facilities

Her students will enjoy an instructor team-taught class on March 3 followed by a party at 11 a.m. at the Hollin Hall Senior Center. Standard class fees apply on March 3.

Jazzercise combines elements of dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and more to create programs for people of every age and fitness level. Alternative formats include Jazzercise Lite, Jazzercise Body Sculpting, Jazzercise Step, Jazzercise Plus, Jazzercise Circuit Training, Jazzercise Personal Touch, and Junior Jazzercise.
