Dominion Groundman, Joe Jonkman, helps a student water a newly planted tree.
On Friday, April 27 at Timberlane Elementary School, Dominion employees stopped at the school to help 3rd grade students plant two trees. He tree planting culminated several weeks of instruction about the benefits of trees. The program comes courtesy of Dominion's Project Plant It, which gives 3rd grade teachers a curriculum about the importance of trees.
Employees quizzed the students about what they had learned and were quite impressed by their knowledge. Every 3rd grade student at the school was given a seedling to take home with instructions on how to plant and care for trees.
