Vienna Police Department Volunteers Honored

On May 24, the Town of Vienna Police Department along with Vienna Youth Football Incorporated honored several individuals that volunteer their time to the Town of Vienna Police Department. Vienna Youth Football, Incorporated Chairman Mark Meana hosted the event along with Capt. Mike Miller from the Town of Vienna Police Department.

Attendees were treated to a dinner at the Harth Restaurant inside the Tysons Corner/Mclean Hilton. Each volunteer was also presented with a shadow box that contained the new Vienna Police Department’s challenge coin and a uniform patch as worn by members of the Vienna Police Department.

The Vienna Police volunteers serve the community and assist the police department in many different ways. Some serve as Auxiliary Police Officers (APO’s), some assist with information maintenance and record keeping, and others help instruct the R.A.D. women’s self defense classes. Pastor Randy Beeman, pastor of the Antioch Christian Church, serves as the police department’s chaplain.
