Balanced Representation

To the Editor:

With the national elections in the spotlight, I want to draw your attention to our local Alexandria City Council race. On Nov. 6, the front of the ballot will hold the Federal races and constitutional amendments, while the back of the ballot will hold our Local Alexandria races. This will be the first time our local election will be held on the same day as the presidential race. This is an important election both nationally and locally in Alexandria.

I will be voting for City Council candidates who will balance development and green space, reviews projects that impact traffic and community services and supports our local and small businesses in a tough economy and keeps my taxes down. Our City Council needs balanced representation to provide a voice of reason to support the growth and prosperity of our community.

Frank Fannon is a life-long Alexandrian who knows and cares about the issues facing our city. He has voted to keep taxes down — both for homeowners and local businesses, and he has supported the preservation of green space. During his past three years on the council, he has made himself readily available to his constituents — demonstrating that he does care about our thoughts and concerns.

Please join me in voting for Frank Fannon on Nov. 6.
