Free Workshop. “Clicker Train Your Dog to Behave” from 10 a.m.-noon at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6030 Grosvenor Lane. Speaker Laurie Luck, trainer and instructor at Karen Pryor Academy, will teach you all the ins and outs of how to use the clicker. We will also do some myth-busting. Come see just how fast (and easy) clicker training works and how you can use it with your dog to teach manners or change a behavior. Leave your dog at home. Kindergarten Registration. Kindergarten orientation sessions will take place for children who will enter kindergarten in the 2013-2014 school year. During orientation, parents and students will meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers and other staff members. Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions about the school’s procedures and programs; enroll students for next school year and complete important forms. The sessions will also help students become acquainted with the school environment. Parents should call their home school to make an appointment to register for that school’s specific orientation date(s). Parents who are not certain which elementary school serves their area should contact the Boundaries office at 240-314-4710. Social Skills Summer Camp. Children in grades 1 through 6 can attend camp and learn friendly behaviors, working as a team, anger management and more. Montgomery County Master Gardeners will be providing free, walk-in “Ask A Master Gardener” plant clinics on Saturdays at Davis Library, 6400 Democracy Blvd. from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. from April through September. Alzheimer's Association support groups provide a place for people with Alzheimer's, their caregivers, family members, and/or friends to share valuable information, caregiving tips and concerns throughout the Alzheimer's journey. Volunteers Wanted

Volunteers are needed to lead free Bone Builders exercise classes that help prevent falls and fractures caused by osteoporosis. Osteoporosis causes bones to become thin and to break easily. Each one-hour Bone Builders session is based on bone density research and includes balance and weight training. Volunteers lead the program and there is no charge to participants. Activities include demonstrating the exercises, encouraging and assisting participants, and ensuring a safe and clutter-free environment. Volunteer leaders receive a full day of free training, as well as periodic refresher training classes, ongoing support and supervision by master trainers. Bone Builders is sponsored by Montgomery County’s RSVP program and Aging and Disability Services, part of the Department of Health and Human Services.
