Bike-A-Thon to Benefit HHS Marching Band Trip to Hawaii

Green Lizard Cycling has announced that the first Green Lizard Half-Century Fun Ride Bike-A-Thon will take place on Sunday, Sept. 15. The proceeds from this ride will support Herndon High School’s Pride of Herndon marching band as they prepare for their upcoming appearance in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Hawaii on Dec. 7.

The Bike-A-Thon Half-Century Ride will start and finish at Green Lizard Cycling in Historic Downtown Herndon and will follow the Washington & Old Dominion Trail from Herndon to Purcellville. Riders may also choose an abbreviated 25-mile run, which will turn around in Leesburg on the same W&OD Trail. The run is supported with rest stops, water, bike mechanics and medical assistance if necessary.

The marching band students and their families will be participating in the ride and volunteering at stops along the route.
