For the second consecutive year, Churchill Road fourth grade students—all 144 of them—collected new books for the fourth grade students at their buddy school, Dogwood Elementary in Reston. Their goal was to reach 100 books by the 100th Day of School and 125 books by Valentine’s Day … and they surpassed their goal by collecting 160 new books. Each book included a handmade bookmark with a handwritten note from students at CRS. The event was organized by Churchill fourth grade teachers Aubrey Beiswenger, Rachel Dunleavy, David Ickowski, Nick Kilpatrick, Claire McHale and Mary-Lynn Robosky.
