Cadet Luis Antonio Gamarra Mendoza Jr. will travel to Canada this summer with The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes to participate in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, featuring more than 2,000 Canadian and international military and civilian performers. Mendoza is majoring in psychology.

Cadet Col. Killian Hopcroft was recognized at Randolph-Macon Academy for superior performance in Air Force JROTC. Hopcraft was presented The MacArthur Cadet of the Year Award, which recognizes a cadet who demonstrates exceptional performance of duties and responsibilities in a leadership role throughout the year.

Halle C. Ritter received a master's of engineering in environmental and water quality engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Binghamton University Alumni Association has elected Christina M. Ritter to its Board of Directors. Her term of service begins July 1.

Alec Jackson was awarded the David M. Brown Memorial Scholarship award for 2013 by The Friends of Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium.

Kathryn Gstalder made the spring 2013 dean's list at The University of Toledo.

Logan Frederick earned academic recognition this spring.at Skidmore College. Frederick received the Roy T. Abbott III ‘78 Memorial Prize and was elected to membership in Pi Mu Epsilon. She was also named to the 2013 inaugural Allstate Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Good Works Team.

Jacob Sherman graduated from Berklee College of Music.

Mary Hudgins and Jo-Yee Pang have been named to the dean's list at the Savannah College of Art and Design for spring quarter 2013.

Audrey Bowler has been named to the dean’s honor list at Gettysburg College.

Kelsey Finnegan graduated from the University of Delaware.

Melody Wren was named to the dean’s list at Marist College for the spring 2013 semester. She is a member of the class of 2013 and is majoring in environmental science and policy.

Jessica Neupane was recognized for outstanding achievement at Randolph-Macon Academy. Jessica received a Certificate of Excellence for Honors Spanish III and achieved an honorable mention on the Spanish National Exam.

Jacob Sherman and Gabriel Yudken have earned placement on the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2013 at Berklee College of Music.

Anneliese Gretsch was a recipient of the dean's award for academic excellence during the 2013

spring term at Colgate University.

Katrina McDougal, an East Asian languages and cultures major, earned honor roll distinction for the spring 2013 semester at the University of Kansas.

Eric Alafita earned a master of science in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University.

Eric Allen Oak graduated from Miami University.

Marie-Claire H. Walters has been named to first honors on the Clark University dean's list for the spring 2013 semester.

Victoria Krieger was named to the dean’s list at Salisbury University for the spring 2013 semester.

Justin Etkin and Alexandra Pill graduated from Emory University. Etkin received a bachelor of buisness administration while Pill received a bachelor of science degree.

Andre Nichols earned a bachelor of arts with a focus in liberal studies from Union Institute & University.

Holly Sewell, a student at Genesee Community College, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2013 semester.

Michael Kitson graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree in computer science from RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Thomas Kim, the son of Richard and Un Hui Kim, was named to the dean's list. Kim was a junior at Randolph-Macon Academy during the 2012-13 school year.

Erik Wagner, the son of Karl Wagner, was named to the principal's list. Wagner was a seventh-grader at Randolph-Macon Academy during the 2012-13 school year.

Jessica Neupane, the daughter of Ram and Goma Neupane, was named to the president's list. Neupane was a sophomore at Randolph-Macon Academy during the 2012-13 school year.

Erik Wagner was recognized for outstanding achievements and contributions at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School's end-of-year awards ceremony. Wagner, who is the son of Karl Wagner, received the outstanding mastery award in art and the most improved student award in life science. He was a seventh grade student during the 2012-13 school year.

Julia Fairweather earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial and management engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in May.

The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech awarded Catarina F. Esteves the Pamplin Leadership Award offered through University Honors for the 2013-14 academic year. Esteves, who graduated from Yorktown High School in 2013, will be majoring in biochemistry at College of Science at Virginia Tech.

The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech awarded Carlos R. Monroy the Pamplin Leadership Award offered through University Honors for the 2013-14 academic year. Monroy, who graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 2013, will be majoring in general engineering at College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Killian Hopcroft, the son of Troy Hopcroft of Arlington and Lorraine Hopcroft, graduated from Randolph-Macon Academy in May 25. He was the Corps of Cadets Corps Commander while at the Academy. At the end of the school year, he received the MacArthur Cadet of the Year Award, the American Legion General Military Excellence Award and the Commandant's Award. Hopcroft participated in varsity football, soccer, and lacrosse.

Charles Toth, class of 2014, was named to the dean's list for the 2012-2013 academic year at Lake Forest College. Toth is a graduate of H B Woodlawn.

Washington-Lee High School graduate Perrin Falkner is beginning a long term Rotary Youth Exchange in Bolivia sponsored by the Arlington Rotary club. Perrin enjoys studying other cultures, and this trip will be an opportunity for her to learn about the many facets of Bolivian society as she heads to Santa Cruz de la Sierra on Aug. 12 for nine months. A member of the National Honor Society, she has been accepted at the University of Virginia and plans to study engineering when she returns. Anabel Montano was named to the spring dean's list at Mary Baldwin College.

Jessica Neupane has been appointed to the student leadership organization of cadre within the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) at Randolph-Macon Academy. She is the daughter of Ram and Goma Neupane of Arlington. Neupane, a junior at R-MA, received the position of Band Logistics NCOIC with the rank of Technical Sergeant.

Navy Midshipman Jonathan D. Wabeke, a 2013 graduate of H. B. Woodlawn High School, recently completed 'Plebe' Summer at the U.S. Navy Academy.

Navy Midshipman Thomas E. Doughty, Jr, son of Mary E. M. and Thomas E. Doughty of Arlington, recently completed 'Plebe' Summer at the U.S. Navy Academy.

Navy Midshipman Julia L. Arthur, daughter of George Arthur, of Arlington, recently completed 'Plebe' Summer at the U.S. Navy Academy.

Bryn Buchanan, a Northern Arizona University communications studies major and resident of Flagstaff, Ariz., was named to the dean's list for the spring 2013 semester.

Jieyun Hao and Dana Warnecke were named to the dean’s list at Purdue University.
