National PTA has recognized Buzz Aldrin Elementary School and the Buzz Aldrin Elementary School PTA as a National PTA School of Excellence for their achievement in building effective family-school partnerships. Being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence demonstrates Buzz Aldrin and the PTA’s leadership and commitment to partnering to support student success and continuous school improvement.
Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with a vision and commitment of the PTA, teachers and administrators who worked together to welcome all families, and set objectives to communicate effectively, enrich the educational experience, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community.
The National PTA School of Excellence program provides guidance to assist schools in engaging families in the school decision-making, and helps schools build inclusive policies related to education, health, safety or the arts.
