Robert Petitti, executive director of the Koinonia Foundation, helps Santa Claus (Rodney Smith) unload a truck of toys for the annual Christmas Wishes shopping program.

Franconia and Kingstowne residents who receive financial and domestic services and assistance from the Franconia-based Koinonia Foundation got the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts at the nonprofit’s annual Christmas Wishes Program on Dec. 10.

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Franconia hosted the event, where Koinonia clients were able to shop a plethora of donated gifts to take home to their families.

Founded in 1966, the faith-based organization Koinonia helps adults and children with food, clothing, education and emergency financial assistance. In addition to the Wishes shopping program, Koinonia’s special seasonal work also includes sending out over 100 holiday baskets of food to clients at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
