Letter: Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce's Recent Endorsements

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

What was the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce thinking with its recent round of endorsements for the November elections? I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Chamber and they were wise to endorse Craig Parisot for the House of Delegates during last January's Special Election. His depth of understanding is unmatched as is his experience.

He knows how to think "outside the box". His background in public sector government contracting and private sector employment experience as an owner and operator of a mid-sized technology business and now as CEO and small business owner all uniquely position him as the pro-jobs, jobs creator, business candidate.

What has Kathleen Murphy accomplished in Richmond that would merit such a stamp of approval from the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce? Nothing that I am aware of. She doesn't seem to have a plan at all. That's not a partisan statement. Look for yourself. In her own words she admits to

being ill-prepared and challenged managing the pace of the General Assembly characterizing the experience at times as "miserable." Remember she ran twice for this seat. Kathleen is not a “doer” nor a creative thinker who is going to expand Fairfax County's tax base through job creation. In contrast, she will fight to increase State revenue through higher taxes on individuals and businesses - most aimed at expanding government programs. Not the way to go! We need more quality, private sector jobs with long-term existence for our well qualified job seekers.

In stark contrast to Murphy, Parisot thrives in fast-paced environments. He has the ability to put a strong economic and 21st Century jobs agenda together, build a coalition of support in Richmond, and effectively pass legislation which will meaningfully move forward

Northern Virginia and our State on these critical economic and infrastructure issues. Our region needs strong leadership and pro-business representation in Richmond. We have a clear choice to get it right this November. We will do best by our citizens if we elect Craig Parisot to the House of Delegates representing the 34th District of Virginia.
