Vienna’s most family-friendly, fun-filled festival returns for Memorial Day weekend. ViVa! Vienna!, a celebration of food, live entertainment, amusement rides, and more than 300 merchandise and service vendors, kicks off on Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m. with food vendors, amusement rides, and live entertainment. Vendors open their booths on Sunday, when Church Street closes down to vehicular traffic. The Historic Church Street corridor turns into a rollicking community-centric party.

ViVa! Vienna! is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vienna, in partnership with the Town of Vienna. Three stages (main, children’s, and a new third stage at Church and Lawyers’ Road) feature pop bands, dancers, and children’s favorites, including kiddie-pop stars, Rocknoceros.

“There’s something fun for all age groups,” said ViVa! Vienna! general chairman, Kathleen Snisky-Miller. “The entertainment is diverse. It’s nice to see friends and neighbors catching up and enjoying the day, sitting on the lawn of the Town Green.”

Vendors line Church Street between Mill and Center streets, and Mill and Dominion streets.

Food vendors sell traditional carnival food (read: fried candy, funnel cakes, and turkey legs), signature dishes from local restaurants, ice creams and ethnic food.

The annual Memorial Day ceremony begins at 1p.m., main stage, across from Freeman House on Church Street, on Monday.
