Reston Volunteer Opportunities

Reston Association is looking for volunteers to participate in Habitat Heroes events on the fourth Saturday of each month (March-November). Volunteer duties include identifying and removing invasive plants from our natural habitat. RA staff will be onsite to provide all training, no experience necessary. The next Habitat Heroes event is Saturday April 23, 10 a.m.–noon.

Reston Association is also looking for volunteers to help at the annual Spring Festival happening Saturday May 7, from 1–5 p.m. at the Walker Nature Center. There are two volunteer shifts, 12:30–3 p.m. and 3–5:30 p.m. Volunteer jobs will include: dressing as the Nature Center mascots, concessions, face painting, simple crafts for children, and helping with canoe and kayak rentals.

The festival will feature entertainment, displays and information from environmental groups, hands-on nature activities, carnival style games, canoe and kayak rentals on Lake Audubon, fishing activities, food and a whole lot of fun.
