Mount Vernon Rotarians celebrated their chapter’s 40th anniversary Wednesday Dec. 7 at Cedar Knoll restaurant.

Bryant Alternative High School principal Tanganyika H. Millard was among those awarded an honorary Rotary Club membership.

Rotary is an international service club bringing together leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Pastor and founder of Harvest Assembly Baptist Church Johnnie Abram, and his wife and assistant pastor Rev. Velvet Abram were inducted as full new members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club. Harvest Assembly is located on Fordson Road in Alexandria.
