On Tuesday, Jan. 5, Boy Scout Troop 1130 of McLean awarded the Eagle Rank to four scouts -- Jacob Ryan, Andrew Ryan, John Hudson, and Nadim Najjar. Jacob Ryan is a 2015 graduate of Mclean High School and is currently enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. Andrew Ryan is a 2015 graduate of McLean High School and is currently studying bioengineering at George Mason University. John Hudson is a junior at McLean High School, where he is a member of the National Honor Society. Nadim Najjar is a senior at McLean High School and will be attending Virginia Tech next fall as a business and finance major.

To earn the Eagle Scout rank a scout has to master numerous scout skills and earn at least 21 merit badges. A scout has to perform many hours of community service and hold leadership positions in the troop. Finally, a scout has to plan, organize and supervise a major service project that will benefit a chosen organization. The project demonstrates the scout’s leadership and organization skills. Troop 1130 is sponsored by Charles Wesley United Methodist Church of McLean.
