The grounds of the Fairfax County Government Center was filled with bouncing children, hopping Easter bunnies and rolling eggs on Saturday, March 26 for Jubilee Christian Center’s Eggstravaganza.

Lead pastor Bill Frasnelli said that the secular aspect of today’s Easter celebrations is a platform to draw people together for community. “I think that using the Easter bunny and using the eggs and those things, it’s a tool like Jesus used loaves and fishes to help people relax and then hear what He had to say.”

At the halfway point of Eggstravaganza, Frasnelli gathered the participants to hear Jordan Hinkle sing “This Little Light of Mine.” Then, he called for volunteers from the audience to deliver a message about sin and redemption.

This is the eighth year Jubilee Christian Center has held the free event. Children and families enjoyed activities, such as Easter egg rolls by age groups, carnival games, balloon animals, turns at the moon bounce and temporary tattoos. There were also raffles and door prizes.

“It’s a happy event and a time of new beginnings,” said pastor’s wife Mary Frasnelli.

Jubilee Christian Center is located at 4650 Shirley Gate Road, Fairfax. For more information, go to jccag.org.
