Retired Army Colonel Willis Scudder celebrated hs 101st birthday with his sons. He lived in Alexandria, and taught high school after he retired from the military.  His most memorable military tour was his time in China where he met his wife while she was working at the U.S. Embassy.

On Oct. 25, The Fairfax at Fort Belvoir hosted an event to recognize 15 centenarians in the Northern Virginia region.
