NVAEYC Appoints New Executive Director

The Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (NVAEYC) has named Alyson Williams, Ed.D. as its first executive director. Williams assumed her duties on March 1.

Williams is an early childhood professional with over 15 years of experience in the field as a teacher, administrator, researcher, and teacher educator. She has also held leadership positions in the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and its local affiliate, the Richmond Early Childhood Association.

NVAEYC is an affiliate of NAEYC. NVAEYC's members include over 750 early childhood teachers, administrators, family child care providers, parents, and other professionals who care about and work to promote the healthy development of all young children in the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Loudoun County.
