About 4,000 Vienna residents attended the Fourth of July Independence Day celebration at Yeonas Park last week. Sponsored by the Vienna Parks and Recreation, the event featured a fireworks show provided by Navy Federal Credit Union, music by the band Fat Chance, and food and drink concessions sponsored by the Vienna Little League. Visitors spread out their blankets and lawn chairs for picnics and to watch the fireworks, which were shot off from Southside Park.

"It's a small town event; it's what makes Vienna special. We enjoy putting on the events for the residents and visitors. We look forward to an even larger festival next year when the community center opens," said Leslie Herman, Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Vienna.
