Exercise enthusiasts and dog walkers who use the trails in Sugarland Run Stream Valley Park in Herndon should be pleased: Fairfax County Park Authority recently announced maintenance work will begin on the existing trail.

“The contractor, Tibbs Paving, Inc., will be mobilizing on site…The mill and paving of approximately 12,000 linear feet of existing asphalt trail is planned,” states Fairfax County on its website.

Contingent upon the weather, the project will continue for approximately six months, with completion anticipated spring 2019. The county cautions that residents should expect occasional traffic at the noted maintenance access points, and sections of the existing trail will be closed to users during the project.
