A composite sketch of the suspect.

Detectives from Major Crimes Bureau have released a composite sketch of the man they believe approached and assaulted two girls on Saturday evening, Jan. 5 in Annandale. The incident occurred around 6:30 as the two girls were walking near the 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane.

Two girls, 11 and 13, were walking in the area when they were approached by a man. The suspect then assaulted one of the girls by inappropriately touching her. He then tried to touch the other girl but she fought him off, and the suspect ran away. An extensive search was conducted of the neighborhood with the help of our helicopter and K9 Unit.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, between 30 to 40 years old, 5’4 to 5’6” tall, with a heavy build, and short black hair. He was wearing a green vest, plaid long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans. Community members can expect to see an increase in officers in that neighborhood as they try to identify the suspect and obtain any information related to the case.
