Thank you for displaying so prominently our efforts to save Blake Lane Park. And thanks too, to all the candidates who came out and supported us. Despite the wind, more than 100 adults came, plus kids and dogs – who were greeted with doggie treats. And even Supervisor Smyth stopped by. While the parents mingled with candidates or took a nature walk, the kids were involved in activities organized by members of the Oakton High School Clubs – Spread a Smile and the frisbee team, and the local theater-arts program, WonderGo. Everyone enjoyed the free food, and listening to talented musician, Philip Beima. Some of us made new friends. Parks Create Community.
