At 24 percent, voter turn out is high for an off-cycle contest.
SPRINGFIELD RESIDENT Charlie Wilson spent 30 years in the Navy and used to voted for Republicans. But he has become dissatisfied with the direction of the political party and, much to the satisfaction of his left-leaning wife, now votes for Democrats. "My priorities changed as I got older. GATHERED AROUND A panel of recording instruments, knobs, dials and wires, the men lined up to tell their portions of Col. John S. Mosby’s history. Better known by his nickname, the "Gray Ghost" of the Civil War, Mosby led numerous campaigns across Virginia, at times stretching from the Shenandoah Valley out to Alexandria, up into Maryland and possibly West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Alan Yellowitz starts a therapeutic music class for senior citizens.
LIKE MANY OTHERS, Alan Yellowitz has had to put doing what he loves most on the backburner in order to bring home a steady paycheck. Now, in the most difficult of economic conditions, Yellowitz is getting the chance to not only do what he loves, but get paid for it as well. Yellowitz, a Fairfax resident, started his own company, The Beat Goes On, an interactive musical therapy class that serves senior citizens across the Washington, D.C. area. Read more...
