Sudden flooding forces evacuation by helicopter.
IN LATE JANUARY, while on an escorted tour in Peru, my wife and I and the rest of our group, together with at least 3,000 other tourists, became marooned near Machu Picchu when the Urubamba River overflowed its banks.
