The West Potomac girls’ 200Y medley and 400Y freestyle relay teams placed first in both events at the Patriot District meet on Jan. 28. Senior Reanna Dona, junior Hellen Moffitt, sophomore Sara Bertram and freshman Maxine Clifford teamed up to set a new Patriot District record (1:47.02) in the girls’ 200 medley relay and won the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.51) by nearly four seconds. All three West Potomac girls’ relay teams will advance to the Northern Region meet and the Virginia state high school championship meet in February.

Thirteen West Potomac swimmers (eight girls and five boys) will advance to the Northern Region swim and dive championships Feb. 2-4 after a competitive Patriot District meet Friday and Saturday at Lee District RECenter.
