Ali Alshabnan, 23, a Global Media graduate student at American University, has lived in McLean for 12 years: “There are many aspects of McLean that I like. It’s a pleasant place to live and it’s very diverse. People are nice to each other and it’s a safe community. The infrastructure is pleasing. It has a small town feel but in terms of people it is a center of importance. I like the nature trails at Great Falls and Scott’s Run for hiking. Some of my friends even go tubing on the Potomac river!”
