After observing the flotilla from the Mont Vernon Yacht club, checking registration numbers, and declining sodas, PFC Matthew Grubb comments that the boaters are very supportive of the Marine Patrol because, “We are a deterrent for the less courteous boaters.” The boat count is about 50 by mid-day in the Sandy Point area on May 26, the officers expect it to reach 100 by the evening.
