Interior design seamstress and garden designer, Linda Brown opened her Stratford Landing home and garden, for the Yacht Haven Garden Club members and their guests to tour her spectacular garden on June 5th.
Features in the garden included: a hosta walk showcasing 176 hostas, a breezeway with Imperial Hanging baskets, shade gardens, tropical plants, column planters, and butterfly gardens that provide the nectar and host plants for the Black Swallowtail and Monarch butterflies which Linda Brown raises.
Brown answered gardening questions and showed the various stages of her butterflies during the tour. Members brought food donations for UCM to the garden tea. YHGC holds an annual fall fashion show with proceeds going to local communities. The club also sponsors a children’s garden project at Washington Mill Elementary School and beautifies the entrances to various neighborhood subdivisions.
