Camps and Schools 9-17-03

Landon School kicked off its Diamond Anniversary Year on Sept. 13 during a special Family Day/Stadium Dedication event at the school’s Bethesda campus. Landon School, founded in 1929 by Paul Landon Banfield and his wife Mary Lee, will begin a year-long celebration of the school, its students, faculty, alumni and parents culminating in a Gala Event in May, 2004.

The highlight of the weekend events was the dedication of the new Robinson M. Bordley ‘66 Stadium and the rededication of the William H. Triplett Field, upon which Landon will play its football and track athletic competitions. Bordley, who teaches Upper School History and coaches the school’s varsity football and lacrosse teams, has been working at Landon since 1970.

William H. Triplett is the school’s former Assistant Headmaster to whom the field was dedicated in 1966.
