Life Line Screening will be at the following locations this fall:

* Word of Life Assembly of God on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Assembly of God is located at 5225 Backlick Road, Springfield. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.

* Providence Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The church is located at 9019 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.

Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete. A complete vascular screening package, including the Stroke/Carotid Artery, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Ankle Brachial Index (hardening of the arteries) screenings is $109. Sign-up for a complete vascular package; include the osteoporosis screening and pay only $129.

Caregiver Support. A support group in Burke will offer support and information to people caring for elderly or disabled adults, whether these loved ones live in their home, nearby residences or miles away. Meetings are free and open to the public. This caregivers support group meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, 1-2:30 p.m., at Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church, 10125 Lakehaven Court, Burke. Registration is now open for walk enthusiasts, community groups, organizations and families to participate in the inaugural Fairfax Corner Walk for Food Allergies: Moving Toward A Cure, on Sept. 10, at 9 a.m. at The Plaza at Fairfax Corner. Inova Fairfax Hospital is co-sponsoring a Walk From Obesity, Saturday, Sept. 24, beginning at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Hospital, 1500 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring, Md. The event includes both a 1-mile and 2-mile walk on Sligo Creek Parkway. The $25 registration fee includes participation in the walk, a T-shirt, entertainment, and light refreshments. * Widow/Widower Bereavement Support Groups, for anyone grieving the death of a spouse. * A General Bereavement Support Group, for anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Meetings take place the first and third Wednesday of the month. Next meeting takes place Sept. 7 from 7:30-9 p.m.

* Suicide Survivors Bereavement Support Group, for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide, meets the first Tuesday of the month from 7:30-9 p.m. Next meeting takes place Sept. 6.

Mothers & More is a support group for women who have altered their career path to care for their young children at home. The group offers playgroups, children's and family activities, guest speakers, book club, mom's night out, movie night, chat group and more. The Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter hosts its annual Memory Walk on Saturday, Oct. 1. Registration begins at 8 a.m., the walk begins at 10 a.m. Registration is free, but walkers are encouraged to raise a minimum of $200. Participants can walk one or three miles.
