Messiah's Child Enrichment Program preschool hosts its annual Trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m.-12 noon. Community Emergency Preparedness Fair hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Saturday, April 26, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the LDS meetinghouse, 4911 Ox Road, Fairfax. Theme of the fair is "If Ye Are Prepared, Ye Shall Not Fear." Classes include food, water, fuel and clothing storage; financial preparedness; family emergency plans; first aid basics and kits; responding to emergencies; self defense. Free.

On Sunday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m. the very Rev. Richard Graham will officiate a bilingual service of Holy Communion on the occasion of the installation of the Rev. Carmelo Santos as associate pastor of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. Santos has been called by the church to help coordinate its outreach to the increasing Hispanic/Latino population in Northern Virginia. The message for the occasion will be delivered by the Rev. Dr. José David Rodríguez, Augustana Heritage Chair of Global Mission and World Christianity at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, where Rev. Santos is a Ph.D. candidate. A reception will follow with h'ors d'oeuvre after worship.
