Thousands of local families, teens, seniors, preschoolers and friends thronged the historic Church Street corridor over Memorial Day weekend at ViVa! Vienna! The annual festival, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greater Vienna, featured 30 amusement rides for children of all ages, fried food, fresh food and frozen food, live entertainment on two stages—three if you count Vienna Idol—and more than 300 vendors selling arts, crafts, goods and services.

The 15th Ride of the Patriots brought an estimated 4,000 bikers to the City of Fairfax on May 26, to ride together to Rolling Thunder at the Pentagon in Arlington. The event honors America’s veterans, servicemen and women, and raises awareness of American POW and MIA soldiers of all wars. The event is sponsored by Patriot Harley-Davidson and the Fairfax VA Chapter, Harley Owners Group.

It’s a high-octane, raise-the-roof extravaganza featuring award-winning singers and dancers in colorful and energetic spectacle. This year’s event, the 27th annual, runs Wednesday-Saturday, May 29, 30 and 31 and June 1, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at www.ChantillyChoral.org. They’re also available at the door, but Friday and Saturday nights usually sell out, so advance purchases are recommended for those shows.
