Activist musical duo Emma’s Revolution performed a benefit concert May 18 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington to raise funds for the church’s youth group to attend the UUC’s General Assembly.

Woodson, Fairfax Shows Receive Cappie Nods
Both Woodson and Fairfax High have received Cappie nominations for their spring, theatrical productions. The winners will be revealed during the June 10 Cappies Gala at The Kennedy Center.
Spotlight on High-School Theater
Paul VI receives nine Cappie nominations.
The Cappie nominations for outstanding high-school theater were just announced and, all together, Robinson, Woodson, Paul VI and Fairfax received 29 nominations. The awards to the winners will be presented Sunday, June 10, at the annual Cappies Gala at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

A Musical About Tough Times
1st Stage present ‘Flora the Red Menace.’
It is daring of 1st Stage to take up the not often produced musical "Flora the Red Menace." It is a show that ran for only 87 performances in mid 1965. It is a musical about out-of-work actors putting on a musical about the search for love and jobs set in the Depression when lives were hurting.

21st annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival features 200 artists.
More than 20 years ago, artist Dana Ann Scheurer was part of the very first Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. The primarily watercolor artist is still part of the festival, which celebrated its 21st year at Reston Town Center.
