The Langley School Presents ‘The Phantom Tollbooth’

This spring, students at The Langley School will bring a new genre of theatre to the Langley stage – the first-ever Middle School musical. "The Phantom Tollbooth" will run Thursday, March 8 through Saturday, March 10.

In February, mill presented two maple syrup boil-downs to public.

Colvin Run Mill is not in Vermont nor are its maple trees "sugar" maple, but the park’s demonstration of a maple syrup boil-down harkens back to the simple ways of country living.

Dance Bethesda Concert To Showcase Six Eclectic Companies

The eighth annual Dance Bethesda, a weekend celebrating dance, will feature a formal dance concert showcasing area companies at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 3. The event, produced by Bethesda Urban Partnership and the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, will take place at Round House Theatre, located at 4545 East-West Highway in downtown Bethesda.

New Aquatics Center Opens

The new Yorktown High School Aquatics Center has officially opened. The facility contains an eight-lane competition pool with a separate diving well and a separate instructional pool. The diving area, completely separated from the lap lanes, includes two one-meter springboards. The instructional pool includes a handicapped accessible ramp. A wet classroom, available for pool party rentals, and a spectator area with capacity in excess of 200 overlooking the pools are also available.

Artists Come Together and Support the Workhouse for the 2012 Collector’s Showcase

The Workhouse Arts Center is now exhibiting the 2012 Collector’s Showcase in its very own Workhouse Gallery. This year’s showcase, which will be on display until Feb. 25, features over 60 diverse works, all of which were donated by Associate and Studio artists’ of the Workhouse.
